Operations Manager Dante Javier manages the six Marble Slab Creamery locations in Saudi Arabia. The brand faces serious competition in the region, from smaller artisanal shops to global brands like Baskin Robbins, which has more than 500 outlets in the country.

Using CandyBar to create a Digital Loyalty Program

Dante shared that the brand had been running a loyalty program using paper cards since the beginning.

“We know that a loyalty program retains customers. Instead of going to a few different ice cream shops, they will prefer to purchase from us to collect points.”

Dante began looking for a digital platform when he noticed that customers were looking for convenience. “Most people don’t want to keep any cards in their wallet - they want everything to be accessible within their smartphone.”

Loyalty Card - Enrolment Success

Dante shared that the brand had been running a loyalty program using paper cards since the beginning.

Marble Slab Creamery used CandyBar to set up its digital customer loyalty program. For every five store visits, customers could redeem a free regular size ice cream.

Customers loved the loyalty program. In less than six months, more than 2500 punch cards have been issued to customers.

“We know that the loyalty program works because we still have customers bringing their loyalty cards from previous programs. They still value the points they earned, and they are coming back to us.”

Compared to other digital loyalty cards, Dante shared that customers preferred to use CandyBar. “Before, customers had to download an app and sign up. Most of the customers don’t want to have to fill in more questions when they sign up. With CandyBar, they just need to enter their phone number.”

Monitoring Store Performance

Dante also makes use of CandyBar as a way to monitor the performance of each of the store outlets. By monitoring the number of stamps each outlet gives out, Dante can estimate the health of each outlet, and decide whether or not to run special promotions at each outlet.
